Alnico Cylinders are mostly used in applications involving seals, sensors and coin collection machines. With their low grade magnetic pull force and good resistance to demagnetisation, these magnets are perfect in applications where there only a small pull force is required. Due to their convenient shape and their impressive flux density they are also frequently used in amplifiers, actuators and motor applications. Despite being the weakest of the permanent magnets, they have a great resistance to corrosion and an excellent temperature stability. Their cylindrical shape allows for them to have versatility in their application.

The rod magnet is magnetized through length L (axially), maximum working temperature +450°C.

The high heat stability of these steels makes them ideal for use in measuring instruments, to obtain perfectly constant signals. Their shape, which is generally elongated, favours their use with reed switches. These steels are much less brittle than ferrite magnets, and therefore have a higher impact strength; they can be machined by grinding. This means that the parts obtained have a smart metallic appearance.

The holding force of magnet is determined at room temperature (20°C) in contact with a polished plate made of mild steel with a thickness of 10mm by pulling the magnet vertically from the surface (1kg - 10N). A deviation of -10% in the stated values is possible in exceptional cases.In general, the value will be exceeded.

The forces have been determined at room temperature on a plate in polished steel (S235JR according to DIN 10 025) with a thickness of 10 mm (1kg ~ 10N). A maximum deviation of -10% compared to the specified value is possible in exceptional cases. Value is exceeded in general. Depending on the type of application (installation situation, temperatures, counter anchor etc.) the forces can be influenced enormously.
